This is a Vintage Buddy L No. 6 B.L.F.D. White GMC-style aerial ladder fire truck in pressed steel — a large 1950s classic with working ladder and siren crack. It features a raisable and extending aerial ladder, dual rear axles on the trailer section, and the classic long-wheelbase rescue/ladder configuration popular in the 1950s.
This example rolls freely with intact wheels and tires. The aerial ladder still raises and operates, and the siren crack still produces sound. It shows significant age-related rust and is missing several components (see condition details). A solid restoration project or display piece for the right collector.
Buddy L (originally Moline Pressed Steel Company) produced these substantial toys in the Moline / East Moline, Illinois area. The No. 6 aerial ladder trucks were part of their mid-century fire department line and are sought after by collectors of large pressed-steel vehicles.
