This is a rare, vintage 1960s Western Flyer Boys 20" Muscle Bike in teal color with white striping, a banana seat w/sissy bar and a rare faux metal tank.

This Western Flyer is a Huffy-built gem from around 1965-1970, based on its serial number HUF2730A stamped on the seat brace—a marker of Huffman's production for Western Auto Stores during the muscle bike boom.

It has a 20-inch frame suited for boys (or girls) aged 8-12, teal paint with white pinstriping, and a black-and-white banana seat with chrome sissy bar. Standout feature: the faux metal gas tank mounted low on the top tube, a chrome steel piece evoking 1950s-1960s Tank models like the X-53 series, but paired here with high-rise ape-hanger bars and whitewall balloon tires. Single-speed with a Komet Super coaster brake, it's about 60 inches long overall and weighs roughly 30 pounds. Western Flyer bikes were the go-to affordable ride for families back then, outselling pricier brands at stores nationwide, and this hybrid cruiser's unique tank makes it a standout for collectors. No box, manuals or extras included, just the bike as pictured.

As a vintage used piece, this Western Flyer bike is in good condition for its age and use with inflated tires and a smooth-rolling drivetrain. There is minor rust and dents on chrome, fenders and other metal surfaces, small paint chips on the frame and various parts, and faded decals on the tank and chain guard—all visible in the photos. The nameplate on the head tube is loose at the top rivet and much of the paint is scrapped off the label. The decal underneath is also difficult to read. There is some grease and grime in various places but overall the bike is clean. Some sewing on the seat is coming loose in a few places, but it’s still mostly intact. The FENIX tires appear to be in good condition with plenty of tread and are 20 x 1.75. The bike rolls nicely, but has not been ridden since acquiring (I weight 220 lbs so best not to hurt myself or the bike!). I don’t expect there are any issues.
